EXCLUSIVE: Emma Gladstone, who has been with Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment since it launched in 2018, has been promoted.
Gladstone has been named Head of East Coast Business Development.
Starting as assistant to the CEO, Gladstone later became chief of staff across the senior Wheelhouse team to then working across its entire entertainment, marketing and investment businesses. She was part of the launch team of its podcasting business in 2020 and has served as a liaison to Wheelhouse’s content divisions, which include Spoke Studios, Butternut and Twist, and its Wheelhouse 360 investment arm, which has backed businesses such as Ritual, Dagne Dover, Bobbie and Homage.
Reporting to Montgomery and Chief Strategy Officer Ed Simpson, Gladstone is tasked with identifying investment and commercial targets as well as new talent partnerships, particularly in the creator space.
It comes nearly a year after Wheelhouse took investment from Alignment Growth, the investment vehicle run by Jeff Bewkes and Kevin Tsujihara.
Wheelhouse is behind series such as Netflix’s Million Dollar Secret, W.A.G.s to Riches and America’s Sweethearts as well as Hulu’s Got to Get Out and A+E’s reboot of Duck Dynasty.
Gladstone said, “I’m fortunate to have been part of Wheelhouse since its inception, and to have had the chance to capitalize on the opportunities that have come through the mentorship of the company’s leadership. I’m extremely excited for this next chapter and to be an integral part of Wheelhouse realizing its wide-ranging ambitions.”
“Emma is a talent magnet and the heart of the company and is now going to be given a lot more rope to activate our biggest ambitions in the creator economy and beyond,” added Montgomery and Simpson.
