In a minor change, the “Quick Share from Google” Windows app has been “renamed and rebranded” to just Quick Share.
This change is rolling out with v1.0.2113.1. Nothing else is included in the changelog: Renamed and rebranded the app from “Quick Share from Google” to “Quick Share”.
Updates to the Windows app are usually more substantial and feature a handful of fixes. In December, Google added a handy “option to change your visibility settings from the tray icon.” Just before that, ARM and Snapdragon support was introduced.
As a reminder, Quick Share on Android widely rolled out QR code sharing in January.
In other Google on Windows news, Google just announced that Play Games on Windows is exiting beta this year. It entered testing in 2022, with Google now making all Android games available by default and adding support for native PC games.
It also added support for AMD laptops and desktops. Looking ahead, Google will start partnering with manufacturers to make Play Games “accessible right from the start menu on new devices.”
