It’s down to David Genat or Alexis Lete on season 2 of Deal or No Deal Island. One of them will face the Banker on the finale, and the other will end their journey frustratingly close to winning what could be more than $10 million. It all depends on the amount in David’s final briefcase. But who were David and Lete’s cast mates rooting for to emerge victorious in the final excursion?
We asked them exactly that when Entertainment Weekly traveled to Panama for filming of the finale. Who was team David? Who was team Lete? And was anyone team CK? Take a peek at the rooting interests of the cast and then see which of them will be especially excited to watch their pick take on Banker Chrissy Teigen March 25 on NBC.

David has been my partner in this game from the first second the game began and I am rooting for David. CK is a controversial figure. She and I helped each other out a lot. I just think she’s a tricky one because she would say that she was loyal, and then she would talk to me, and we’d make a plan, and then she’d go talk to Lete, and then she’d go talk to Phillip. So I watched CK playing all sides with everyone. CK doesn’t have an off switch. She played really hard, but she played herself out.

I’m rooting for Lete to win. I think she’s worked hard. She really is an amazing person that’s been through a lot in her life, and I think it’s her turn to do something amazing and great in this world. She’s already done so much, and I’ve told it to her more than once, but I think an investment in Lete is a smart one.

The one person I don’t want to win is CK. She cheated in a few things and I don’t want someone representing our season as a cheater. I think that makes all of us look bad. Now, when it came to Lete and David, I am pretty neutral for the most part just because of the fact I felt like they both played great games. They both played in different ways. Lete was a super honest player. Then David was an honest player, but apparently, he told a few lies. That’s just the pro in him coming out since he has played Survivor.
You got a girl who’s never played before facing up against this all-star of a player. So both of ’em deserve to win. But I would pick David, just because I was working with him this entire game. We had a lot of one-on-ones together and maybe I go back and I see they weren’t genuine, but he was this father figure to me in this game — giving me real-life advice and showing me how to hit on the ladies. So I have to go David.

So I like everybody in this, but I’m rooting for David. David and I were bunk mates, so I actually had the opportunity to get to know him more than the other people playing. I love Lete. I think she’s amazing. I even enjoyed CK, even though a lot of people did not, but she was really good to me and did a lot to protect me. But David was the same guy when we were in the tent without microphones as he was when we were playing in the challenges. I never saw him do anything other than the things that he said he would do. So I am really rooting for him.

David is clearly a force. He’s a physical specimen. The guy couldn’t be more friendly. He absolutely has done everything he needs to do to win this show. Lete, I’m not even sure she’s human. She could be 50 percent Yeti or alien, I’m not sure. She is an absolute force and she’s done everything she deserves to win the show. The general consensus is that CK absolutely doesn’t deserve to win the show. I fully, 100 percent, unequivocally disagree with that. People don’t like her because she misleads them. That’s allowed. People don’t trust her. That’s allowed. The thing she did, which crosses the line, is she cheated, and she admitted cheating and she got caught cheating and it was on-camera cheating. So the group feels that she shouldn’t win. But again, I am agnostic. If you are in the final three, you deserve to win because you’ve done something right.
I love a story, and if CK can complete the redemption arc and has the mental awareness to provide the information to the fellow cast that we need, she could fully complete the circle and go from villain to redeemed hero. And everyone loves forgiveness and a redemption story. But I remain unconvinced she can do it. Lete and David both deserve to win. I think they’re both phenomenal players. I’m really 50/50.

I am a hundred percent rooting for my girl Lete. Because from day one, we’ve been really cool. We shared a tent together. We’ve shared a lot with each other. I really admire how she represents herself as a strong woman in society, given her age as well. I really admire her relationship with God. We just really connected, me and Lete, all the game stuff aside. Lete is really someone that I am really grateful to have gotten to know. I really want it for her very badly.

I’m rooting for Lete or David, either one of them. I guess I would be okay if David wins. It would make me look better because I gave him my immunity and I could just be like, “He’s such a good player, y’all just don’t understand.” And Lete, she’s really sweet, she’s really nice, and she said she was going to move back in with her parents or something if she didn’t win and stuff. So I would be okay with either of them. I’m not a big fan of CK. She never has a clear thought and then she looks like a crazy freak. She was in one of my alliances and I was like, “Yo, chill out. You look like a freak. You’re making yourself look crazy.”

I want Lete a hundred percent to win. She was in my original alliance. It was me, Phillip, Seychelle, and Lete. When I got eliminated in Temple and we were all hugging goodbye, I whispered in her ear and told her, “You can win this whole entire thing. I’m a hundred percent sure you can win it and you deserve to win it.” She has a heart of gold, she plays a very, very clean game and she’s just a beast athlete.

Out of the final three, Lete’s stock went way up on one of the competitions for me and I was really rooting for her. And in the background of my mind, I was thinking of David and he probably has so much money and he’s pretty slick. So out of the two of ’em, I am leaning more towards Lete, but truthfully, may the best person win.

Lete. Because she’s dynamic, she obviously is incredibly athletic, she’s physically capable, and she’s fun.

Lete, because I absolutely love a strong woman — someone that is sure about themselves, comfortable with who they are as a person, and just knows how to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. And she’s done that from day one. She was above board with everything, the way she presented herself in social circumstances, and she just seemed to be the complete package. Physically, she can keep up with the guys for the most part and she’s just a complete outfit.
The Deal or No Deal Island finale airs March 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
