‘7th Heaven’s Jeremy London Defends Stephen Collins In Upcoming ID Series: “I Never Noticed a Damn Thing About Him Working With Young Girls”

7th Heaven actor Jeremy London comes to the defense of Stephen Collins in Hollywood Demons, an Investigation Discovery series premiering Monday that promises to “focus on different scandals and tragedies” in Tinseltown.

The first episode of the six-episode series focuses on Collins, who admitted back in 2014 that he sexually assaulted three underaged girls but was never charged. London, who played a minister on the drama that aired on the WB and CW from 1996 to 2007, spoke to ID about his memories working with the actor.

“What I noticed about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras is that I never noticed a damn thing about Stephen Collins working with young girls and extras,” said London. “He never crossed any lines of any kind.”

London joined 7th Heaven for the seventh and eighth seasons to play Chandler Hampton, a young minister who temporarily fills in for Collins’ Reverend Eric Camden.

“Stephen Collins was most certainly America’s dad,” London says in the ID episode. “I mean I wanted him to be my dad. I still want him to be my dad … whatever, something happened, I don’t know what happened. You’re messing with somebody I love and care about, and to see anybody messing with him, it still makes my blood boil.”

Last year, 7th Heaven stars Beverley MitchellDavid Gallagher and Mackenzie Rosman launched a rewatch podcast Catching Up with the Camdens. They prefaced the pilot episode with a disclaimer about their TV dad.

“Before we get into this episode, we want you to know that we see all of your comments and we know how excited you all are for the rewatch, so that’s exactly what we’re going to do,” said Mitchell. “But before we get into that we do think it’s important that we say something about Stephen Collins.”

In October of 2014, TMZ posted an audio recording that appeared to be Collins confessing to sexual conduct with multiple minors. That December, he admitted in a statement to People that he sexually assaulted three underaged girls.

Subsequent episodes of Hollywood Demons focus on former child actors Brian Bonsall (Family Ties) and Dee Jay Daniels (The Hughleys), the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’s Taylor Armstrong, the Von Erich wrestling dynasty, and celebrity stalkers.

Hollywood Demons will air weekly beginning March 24 from 9-11pm ET/PT on ID and will be available to stream on Max.
