Precious Way & Jalyn Hall Round Out Series Regular Cast In NBC’s Tracy Morgan Comedy Pilot

EXCLUSIVE: Precious Way (Heist 88) and Jayln Hall (Till) have joined the cast of Tracy Morgan‘s untitled NBC comedy pilot from Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and writer Sam Means.

Written by Carlock and Means, the new comedy stars Morgan as a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image.

The pair joins previously announced cast members Erika Alexander as ‘Monica,’ Reggie’s childhood sweetheart from Brooklyn who co-parents with him and still is his agent and business manager, even though they divorced years ago; Daniel Radcliffe as Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s mansion to film an immersive documentary about the former star running back; and Bobby Moynihan as ‘Gator,’ Reggie’s loyal former teammate who has always stuck with him even when things went sideways.

Also in series regular roles, Way will portray ‘Brina,’ Reggie’s (Morgan) loving and supportive fiancée who sees the documentary as an opportunity to advance her stardom; Hall will portray Carmelo, Reggie and Monica’s son, a high schooler who has grown up in the shadow of Reggie’s football career.

Carlock, Means and Morgan executive produce with Fey, Eric Gurian and David Miner. Rhys Thomas is executive producer of the pilot only. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, where Fey, Carlock and Means are under overall deals, produces with Little Stranger, Bevel Gears and 3 Arts.

Way starred as ‘Ladonna Page’ in the Showtime original film Heist 88, opposite Courtney B. Vance. She also had a recurring role as ‘Jojo,’ the daughter of Naomi (Brandy), on the ABC musical drama series Queens. Additionally, Way played the lead role of ‘Luscious T’ in the AllBlk half-hour comedy Partners in Rhyme, opposite MC Lyte, and starred in the horror-thriller You’re Not Alone. She is repped by Buchwald and Zero Gravity Management.

For his performance in the film Till, Starring alongside Danielle Deadwyler and Whoopi Goldberg, Hall received an Image Award, a Critics Choice Award nomination and an African-American Film Critics Award. He recently portrayed ‘Baby Ray’ in the Peacock limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Hart. Additional TV credits include playing a young ‘Martin Luther King Jr.’ in the Emmy Award-nominated Genius: MLK/X, the Hulu/ONYX feature Bruiser, Disney+’s The Crossover, and the role of ‘Dillon James’ in the CW series All American. His film credits include Space Jam 2, Shaft, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, The Outlaw Johnny Black and All Day and Night. He is repped by Artist Collective Entertainment and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
